Earlier that morning I’d listened to the CBC Sunday Edition documentary Generation Next episode concerning the rise of the far right in Hungary. Having been to Hungary, and to Budapest, and to the Terror Museum described in the documentary, and to the memorial on the Danube where Jews were shot and killed and dumped into the river, and having (over)educated myself about Hungarian history, I found it beyond disturbing the lack of understanding for (recent) Hungarian history among far right supporters.
