Zombies Outside South Station. Boston.

My sister and brother-and-law ran a 1/2 marathon in Massachusetts in June. They stayed with my aunt in Whitman the weekend of the race, and we met them for a day excursion in the North End at South Station.

There was a very large crowd of zombies outside the entrance to the station. I don’t know what was going on, but it was fun, and funny, and the zombies we’re happy enough to have their pictures taken – I didn’t get any weird looks, but hey, they’re zombies – so, weird looks…?

Look closely at the sign on the garage.

One of the 35mm pictures I took when I “discovered” the Casco Bay Bridge as subject matter.

It’s great for biking, walking and just sitting and watching too!

Obligatory lighthouse photo. We’re in Maine, right?

The midday sun was pretty bright, but I like the clouds in this shot. They make the blue sky interesting.

In March 2004, Jim had a meeting to attend in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I was lucky enough to be able to tag along and we turned the trip into a mini-vacation. I captured this image just after our take off from Halifax.

When the Aya Sofia, or Hagia Sophia, was built between 532 and 537, it served as an Orthodox basilica, then when the Ottoman Turks conquered Constantinople in 1453, it was converted to a mosque. Now it is a museum. During the time that it was a mosque, most of the mosaics were plastered over. This image shows the Theotokos (Virgin Mother and Child) mosaic, along with one of the medallions showing an Islamic inscription.
