Restored Interurban Railway Station, Seashore Trolley Museum

Comments Off on Restored Interurban Railway Station, Seashore Trolley Museum

We visited the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport yesterday. They have in their collection trolleys, subway cars, and buses from as far away as Budapest and Australia, many of them lovingly and beautifully restored by a highly dedicated group of volunteers. In fact, we learned that there are only 5 paid staff there. Everyone else, from the restorers to the railcar operators to the docents, are volunteers.

This interurban station was originally located in Cumberland, I believe.

As promised, some peonies from the Maine Audubon Peony Bloom & Ice Cream Social. As you can see it is still a little early and most of the peonies haven’t quite opened yet, but probably will in the next few days.

Here’s my ice cream: strawberry ice cream with hot fudge, fresh strawberries, whipped cream and, of course, a cherry. Come back Saturday for some peonies.

B2 Stealth Bomber

This afternoon a B2 Stealth Bomber flew over our house as part of the PWM Aeronautical Expo that they have every year. You can really see why people reported them as UFO’s while they were being developed.
